Calligraphy set with Ink well
A unique collaboration between London Pigment and London based ceramicist Kate Kirk. ( @kate.m.kirk ) This set contains the following:
1x Calligraphy ink sample set
1x Kate Kirk ink well (approx 3 cm x 3.5 cm )
Each ink well is individually handmade in London by Kate Kirk and fired to stoneware temperatures. Each piece is unique, following an original design that aspires to stability, balance and simplicity.

This drawing and calligraphy ink set has been especially formulated to showcase a range of different mark making capabilities based on the differing characteristics of the pigments used. The set comprises of 4 x 15 ml bottles of handmade ink in the following colours:
Oak gall ink-
historical black ink made from oak gall apples which are made from acorn buds that have been genetically modified by the oak gall wasp. This velvety matte ink goes down dark grey and dries an intense black.
Permanent and lightfast
Carbon black ink-
oak gall ink with carbon black added. SHAKE WELL.
Permanent and lightfast
Walnut ink-
Warm dark brown ink made from English walnut husks.
This ink is not wholly lightfast and will fade if left in direct sunlight for long periods of time.
Granulating oak gall ink-
Oak gall ink made with English oak galls from Hampshire. This ink is a granulating oak gall ink.
All inks use gum Arabic as their binder
