Keith Edwards' Verditer Recipes

Since 2018, Lucy has been learning the heritage craft of pigment making under the mentorship of Keith Edwards of Edwards Pigments Ltd. With over 60 years of experience in the trade, Keith has produced pigments using historical recipes for renowned institutions and suppliers, including L. Cornelissen & Son, Kremer Pigmente, the National Gallery, English Heritage and the Harvard Pigment Collection.

Keith has generously entrusted Lucy with some of his meticulously researched traditional British pigment recipes, including methods for producing value & green verditer and lake pigments. Through this mentorship, Lucy is helping to preserve and continue specialist knowledge of historic pigment manufacture.
